AFC Hiltingbury....... a FA Charter Standard Club

We are a community football club, founded in 1990 and based in the Chandler 's Ford area of Hampshire. The clubs' “goal” is to provide a framework in which the children of the local community can develop their football prowess.

Throughout the years, our club, AFC Hiltingbury, has become renowned for good sportsmanship, excellent team spirit and above all, a club that cares and provides the right ethos for the children to develop and improve their football skills.

We will have 15 teams in the 2007/2008 season playing across three local youth leagues: The Eastleigh and District Mini Soccer League, the Southampton Tyro League and the Southampton Youth League. The age groups covered range from Under 8 to Under 18. Furthermore, for the first time in our club's history we have a Senior team playing in the Southampton Junior Division 2 Saturday league. This is a major development for the club as one of our aims was to provide a route to senior adult football once our players had passed through the various youth leagues. This dream is now reality as AFC Hiltingbury begin the 2007/2008 season in Junior Division 2. It is hoped that once this team becomes established that a second XI will be started in due course.

AFC Hiltingbury is a F.A. Charter Standard club. This ensures better coaching for all the teams, since, under F.A. Charter Standard, all teams must be coached by qualified coaches. At the present time, out of the 15 existing teams, we have 9 coaches with Level 1 F.A. Coaching certificates and 2 currently holding the level 2 coaching certificate. Our Head Coach, Tony Thacker works closely with managers to ensure that coaching requirements are meet. In addition, many of our teams employ fully qualified coaches to take training sessions.

In April 2004 we were delighted to announce that Sparks Ellison, the Chandlers Ford based independent estate agent, agreed to sponsor the entire club. This has given AFC Hiltingbury a new lease of life and we are actively seeking to expand our team base and promote our vision of how a community football club should be run. Whilst the sponsorship is initially for three years, both parties are looking forward to forming a mutually beneficial partnership in the Chandlers Ford community.

Our aim for 2008/2009 is to now begin girls football from U11 upwards. Please contact either me or Ian Bonnon (Vice Chairman) if you wish to help the club achieve this aim.
